Performances

While The Kettle Valley Brakemen continue to tour widely performing at museums, music festivals and special community events throughout the summer, more and more we are performing for private audiences of folks living in gated communities. These situations present us with ideal performing circumstances: intimate venues and interested audiences.

Public Performances this year (watch for updates):

Saturday April 16th - Penticton Museum - This is an afternoon concert (2:00 pm) and--at the concert intermission--features Barrie Sanford, the dean of Kettle Valley Railway historians giving a brief talk on Perley McPherson (a long time KVR conductor, Penticton alderman and KV Brakemen song subject). Giant FM personality Dennis Walker will MC this show with help from Mayor Janice Perrino of Summerland. There's limited seating so advance tickets are recommended. Call the Museum at 250-490-2451.

Thursday May 5th - Smith and Co. Coffee House (Penticton) - This performance is part of the Penticton Showcase Series promoted by Kyle Anderson. The setting is intimate and you get four local acts for $17.00 per ticket which are available in advance at the venue. Further information: 250-492-5670

Saturday May 28th a 2:00 pm concert at the Osoyoos Museum - This is a benefit performance to support a new home for the Osoyoos Museum.  Further details contact Ken Favrholdt 250-495-2582

Friday July 1st - The Grist Mill in Keremeos - What better way for heritage performers to celebrate Canada Day than with an outdoor show at The Grist Mill. Details of this performance are being established at this time and as the date gets closer will be available at 250-499-2888

Saturday July 23rd - The Spiral Tunnels near Hope - A day of celebration in the Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park at the site of the Othello-Quintette Tunnels. The event lasts from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm The Kettle Valley Brakemen and two children's entertainers will perform. There'll be tunnel tours and arts and crafts workshops for the children. Other than concession sales, everything else is free to the public.. Further information: Diane Ferguson 604-869-7073

Saturday August 6th - Midway Museum - This concert is a 2:00 start and has been a yearly highlight for The Kettle Valley Brakemen since it was instituted several years ago.
